Thimphu, Paro, Punakha Tour Overview

A short but spectacular Bhutan escape that blends culture with a one-night Himalayan trek. Begin in Thimphu with Tamchog Lhakhang, the towering Buddha Dordenma, a hands-on paper-making workshop, Centenary Farmers Market, and the evening flag-unfolding at Tashichho Dzong. Cross Dochula Pass to river-valley Punakha for its grand dzong and a relaxed riverside picnic, plus a scenic hike to Khamsum Yulley Chorten. Return to Paro and gear up for the Bumdra Trek—a forested ascent to a high meadow camp near 4,000 m with sunset views and cozy luxury tents. At sunrise, descend along cliffside monasteries to the legendary Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang), then unwind with a traditional hot-stone bath before departure. Ideal for active trvlers who want Bhutan’s icons and a memorable night in the mountains, without committing to a long expedition.
